Balsam Meadows
North side of Highway 168 east of Camp Edison and 55 miles east of Fresno in Fresno County.
This is the best place for sledding and snowman building on Hwy. 168. Limited cross-country skiing. No snowmobiling.
Tamarack
South side of Highway 168 and 60 miles east of Fresno in Fresno County.
Snowmobile trails, cross-country skiing and limited snow play.
Coyote
North side of Highway 168, and 61 miles east of Fresno in Fresno County.
Cross-country ski area with limited snow play. No snowmobiles.
Eastwood
East side of Highway 168 at Huntington Lake Road, 75 miles east of Fresno in Fresno County.
Cross-country ski trails, dog sledding and limited snow play.
Huntington Lake
West side of Huntington Lake off Highway 168, 78 miles east of Fresno in Fresno County.
Cross-country ski trails, dog sledding and limited snow play.
Near Yosemite:
Tenaya Lodge
On Highway 41 in Fish Camp.
Free to use the kiddie hill and the big hill if you have your own sled. Disc rentals available, $15 for half day, $25 for full day.

In Yosemite National Park
Sequoia/Kings Canyon:
Wolverton
An open area with sledding hills two miles north of the General Sherman Tree.
After snowstorms, it may take several hours before plows can get the area open for the day.
Cross-country skis and snowshoes are available for rent and snowplay gear is for sale at Wuksachi Lodge.
Grant Grove
Big Stump and Columbine are in the Grant Grove section of Kings Canyon National Park. On nearby National Forest land are the Big Meadows, Quail Flat and Cherry Gap areas.
