Exeter Raceway & Hobbies – R/C Racing Fun For The WHOLE Family!

We discovered Exeter Raceway & Hobbies this week, and this place is AWESOME!

Exeter Raceway & Hobbies offers a very unique indoor, off-road R/C experience.

Let’s face it – a lot of places that we take the kids are mostly fun for them, but not us.
While we like to watch our kids enjoying something, we would much rather have fun along with them, and Exeter Hobbies is one of the few places that is truly exciting for EVERYONE!

The town of Exeter, just east of Visalia, is so cute, and Exeter Raceway & Hobbies is housed in a great historic building with a vintage truck out front.

When you walk inside, there is a large retail area with the coolest R/C vehicles, airplanes, drones and all the parts for hobbyists.

But the really exciting part is the track area!

There is a large racing track and a crawler track:

Although Exeter Hobbies serves many serious hobbyists that own R/C vehicles, they also have several that you can rent just for fun while you’re there.

The rentals include two battery packs, which was plenty for us, but you can also purchase additional batteries if you want more time.
The prices are very reasonable and well worth the fun!

Our kids were so happy to get to choose cars that were their favorite colors, and then watch while the charged up batteries were installed.

After some quick instruction,

we were ready to race!

There is a platform overlooking the whole track that you can stand on to control your car,

but sometimes the cars get stuck, (especially when you’re a beginner,) and you have to go down and rescue them.

The kids loved going down to rescue the cars, and then decided that it was more fun to race while standing right on the track

and running around with other kids.

The cars also crash a lot, (especially when you’re a beginner,) which of course is one of the best parts for the kids!
And parents can relax because Exeter Raceway & Hobbies covers all damages to rentals.
It is so wonderful to just let the kids have fun and not have to worry about them wrecking things!

Racing cars is not usually Mom’s idea of a great time, but even she decided to join in and was very pleasantly surprised at how much fun she had.

And we were also surprised that our three-year-old was able to control his own car pretty well after just a short time of practicing with Mom and Dad.

Like we said, Exeter Raceway & Hobbies is truly a good time for the whole family!!

After we did the racing track for a while, the kids were eager to try the crawler track.
One of the great staff members gave us a demonstration.

Then, the kids gave it a shot, and once again, we were surprised at how quickly they picked it up.

It was so much fun, so Dad couldn’t stand by for long – he took over the controls!

Everyone loved driving on the crawler track and even just watching it!

In between driving sessions, the boys took a few breaks in the play area to play corn hole, giant Jenga, and scoot around.

Exeter Raceway & Hobbies also has a huge party room that can fit 50 people with air hockey, foosball and plenty of tables and chairs.
Because everyone can join in the fun here, this would be such a great place for a party!

This smile sums up perfectly how happy our kids were the whole time we were at Exeter Raceway & Hobbies –
until we had to leave, and then they cried, which is a sure sign that it was a fantastic experience!

Now, they are asking us everyday if we can go back!

Exeter Raceway & Hobbies is located at 130 E. Maple St., in Exeter – about one hour from Fresno/Clovis.
